Massage therapy has a long history in cultures around the world. Today, people use many different types of massage therapy for a variety of health-related purposes. In the U.K, massage therapy is often considered part of complementary and alternative medicine, although it does have some conventional uses.

Studies of the benefits of massage demonstrate that it is an effective treatment for reducing stress, pain and muscle tension. Some studies have found massage may also be helpful for, anxiety, digestive disorders, headaches, insomnia related to stress, soft tissue strains and sports injuries.

    The massages we will be offering are:


    Hot Stone Massage

    The stones used in this massage are made out of volcanic rock and so the stones hold in heat at lot longer. A hot stones massage is 5 times deeper than a manual massage this is good if you need deep pressure for you aches and pains. Because the stones are warm it is easier to get deep into the muscles and relief any tension. The hot stones are never rough. They are always flat and smooth.

Swedish Massage

This is a type of massage that relaxes the entire body. The type of movement preformed in this massage is a rubbing and gliding strokes across the muscles, pressure is applied by the hands and prams, firm kneading and stretching. All movements are in the direction of the blood returning to the heart.

Deep Tissue Massage

This is a type of massage therapy that focuses on the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is helpful for aches and pains and contracted areas such as stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. The type of movement preformed is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia.
